Online lessons at Eriza's Language School are effective!
I completed a ten lesson package at Eriza's Language School while I was visiting the Philippines for about two months. I came away with a better understanding of the Tagalog language and Filipino culture.
My teacher, Angelli was very excellent!! The course was completely online and I usually scheduled two lessons each week so that I had some days in between to study my lessons (and not look like I was "Slacking.")
Since my wife is a Filipina and we visit with her family, I want to learn the language. Although the education is slow (I am a slow learner but can make up for that with my persistence.), Classes like these help a lot and give structure to my learning. I am only a beginner but making progress. Angelli had lessons for me to complete but often I would choose to add something other that I had thought of. She was flexible and open to my needs. It worked well!
I highly recommend Eriza's Language School and think most students would love the online format.
I enjoyed the learning and the lessons and found it fun! The lessons were easy to set up and I found that I like the online better than having to make it to a class! Michael Schroth

I took 15 hours of lessons to learn the basics of Tagalog. Eriza was very helpful and accommodating. Teacher Sheera did a great job in making the lessons fun and helping me understand the proper grammar and understand why things work a certain way. One suggestion I would make is to add more variety in exercises to accommodate for different types of learning.

I took set of 10 Tagalog lessons. Teacher Alice was very kind, organized and professional in teaching. The lesson material is also very friendly for first learner. I would take another set of lessons again. Thank you!!

A great langauge school for learning Tagalog/Filipino. The team is extremely accommadating, engaging, and detailed. Teacher Sheera was a fantastic langauge instructor, and guided me through the langauge in a very well informed, clear and structured way. At the same time, she was always open to random questions and learning more about the cultural meanings around Filipino and the country more broadly. It was great to have such a humorous and thoughtful teacher. The course was a truly immersive and informative.
I highly reccommend!

I really enjoyed my Tagalog classes with Teacher Sheera. She was explaining everything really good, the sessions were well structured and organized and she took her time to answer all my questions.
All in all I’m really happy that I found Eriza’s Language School and I appreciate the lessons I had with Teacher Sheera. 😊

I’ve been taking one-on-one lessons with Eriza’s Language School for 11 months. At 58, it has been a humbling experience to learn a new language, especially while living in the U.S. and without immersion in a Tagalog environment.
Teacher Eriza assigned me to an excellent young female teacher who is obviously well-educated, knowledgeable, patient, and kind. She has taken me through all the major grammar lessons I need to become functional at a conversational level. I can now understand and speak far more than just basic sentences. I am able to express multi-sentence thoughts, read multiple paragraphs, and understand a great deal of what I hear and read.
It would be much more helpful if I could spend time in the Philippines, but I am trying my best to learn from afar. I’ve also noticed that Teacher Eriza seems to review the Zoom recordings, because there appears to be a very thoughtful and coordinated approach to my lessons. Even though my classes are one-on-one, they somehow know how to tailor each lesson to what I specifically need to learn. I am very impressed with this apparent but unspoken background effort to customize the instruction to my level and pace.
The school does provide worksheets and assignments, which are helpful. However, I personally tend to ask for more practice than what is probably typical, since I am trying to reinforce the material very thoroughly. To supplement this, I’ve developed a method of using AI for additional practice, and more recently I’ve been using voice chat in ChatGPT to verbally put into practice what I’ve learned in my private classes.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with my lessons at Eriza’s Language School. There is a clear emphasis on excellence. I previously tried another language school that was far inferior, which makes me appreciate the quality here even more. Eriza seems very careful about which teachers she hires, and I highly recommend her language school.

My 7 year old daughter has been doing regular Tagalog lessons remotely (we are based in New Zealand) through Eriza's language school and all we can say is that Teacher Alice is amazing. She is lovely, helpful, patient and very knowledgeable at teaching my daughter Tagalog. She makes the class so fun and enjoyable for my daughter and we highly recommend Teacher Alice and the Team at Eriza's language school if you are looking for a language school that will help you develop your linguistic skills and abilities.

Finding a language instructor and service always seems like an illusive task since adult learners come in many varieties. From what I have seen, there is a spectrum of language learning for adults: on one hand a highly structured academic environment similar to a university classroom and on the other end of the spectrum a purely conversational methodology that I find haphazard.
For myself, I was looking for a service to help me learn Tagalog in a structured manner. I did not want a service that is purely conversational as I already know I do not learn that way. In order for a program to have this structure intentional preparation needs to be done, which is clearly that case with this program. I'm attaching an example of the PDFs prepared by the school to show you that the instruction here is intentional. I took 110 lessons over a little more than a year with this program, with about two lessons a week.
As a former ESL instructor and teacher myself, I know good teaching when I see it, and I find Eriza’s program to be one of quality. I found my instructor, Cindy, to be an excellent instructor who was constantly prepared for class. She used a prepared curriculum that made it easy for someone with zero Tagalog skills to learn.
From a pedagogical lens some of the positives of this program is that there are clear examples of grammatical structures, graphic organizers that help students understand concepts, and a significant amount of practice offered. I found Cindy to be very patient with me with my learning and to consistently have a positive outlook. She was also extremely accommodating on scheduling the classes.
There are some small elements of this program that a language learner should be aware of. The coursework does not spiral, meaning that once a topic is covered it is only reviewed in a cursory manner later on. This means that a wise student would be reviewing on their own. Also, there were some lessons where I just conjugated and made sentences with many verbs in isolation, which is normally not considered best practice in language instruction. A repetitive activity like this would normally be a significant turn off for most students.
I would highly recommend using a spaced repetition memorizing app such as Anki in conjunction with this course, to help with the vocabulary.
However, in terms of value, you will find this program to be the best deal available. The cost was less than half of the cost of a similar program in my area.
So, I’d highly recommend Eriza’s Tagalog classes and Teacher Cindy for your language needs.

The tagalog lesson for kids was very good. It teaches what you need to know in everyday conversations. A great method of doing question and answer for better retention and knowing when to apply in conversations

I want to publicly praise Eriza's Language School and our teacher, Teacher Cindy, for guiding us in our first septs into the world of Tagalog.
As a native Spanish language teacher living in the Manila, having the opportunity to learn the local language with a local teacher has been a great way to connect with my new home and host culture.
I higly recommend anyone that has moved to The Philippines (or anyone anywhere in the world who has fell in love with this beautiful place on Earth!) to connect to the Land, the Culture and it's people by learning Tagalog with Eriza's Language School and Teacher Cindy.
Maraming salamat po!

We have had a good experience with learning through Eriza's school. We were assigned a kind and patient teacher and while we are still learning, we feel like we have gained a better knowledge of Tagalog.

I'm taking classes for a few weeks now and I'm really enjoying every minute of it. Teacher Nephi has a lot of knowledge and she makes me feel very comfortable and eager to learn more. Every class she asks if I have gained any new vocabulary, which encourages me to talk to other people and watch Tagalog shows/vlogs/movies. I wish I started sooner!

I highly recommend Eriza's Language School. Eriza is a wonderful teacher who creates a supportive and fun environment to learn in. The online scheduling is convenient, easy to use and allows for flexibility. Her one-on-one lessons have been perfect for me to gain confidence in speaking Tagalog, as well as being able to read and write. All of her lessons are designed to build conversational language skills and provide students with an understanding of the grammar and usage. I am very pleased with the progress I have made and am excited to learn more.

Highly recommend! I've actually found it a little challenging to find Filipino language classes, so I was really happy to find Eriza's Language School. Getting classes set up was really easy and Eriza is very responsive and also gave great advice on how to structure classes based on my schedule and goals. My teacher Regine was also great, I'm not a total beginner but she was able to zero in on an exact level of content that could challenge my present skill level with new vocabulary and grammar structures while not being too overwhelming. I learned a lot with Regine and am feeling encouraged to keep up my learning!
